Who will most benefit from this site? If you teach grades 3 through 6 and love lessons that actively engage your students, you'll find just what you need on this site. Many of the activities will be exactly what you're looking for and you'll be able to use them right away with minimal tweaking.
If you teach older kids with special needs, you'll also find that many of these activities work well because they address a variety of learning styles.
If you teach young children or regular-ed older students, many of the strategies will apply, but you may have to modify the specific activities quite a bit to make them work for you.

Teaching Resources Site Overview
My online File Cabinet is a collection of activity worksheets and printables for teachers. You’ll find active engagement ideas for a variety of content areas such as math, reading, science, and social studies. You’ll also find seasonal activities for special times of the year. The printables are in PDF format, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the files. Most of the activities are best suited for students in grades 3 through 6, but many of them can easily be adapted to other grades as well.
The Strategies section explores research-based strategies that have been proven to foster active engagement and boost achievement. You’ll find information about how to implement Cooperative Learning, Literature Circles, Learning Centers, Mastery Learning, and more.
In this section, you’ll find books that I’ve written for teachers. Over the last 20 years, I've written two types of books: print books and ebooks. The print books are on Cooperative Learning topics and are published by Kagan (www.kaganonline.com). The digital eBooks are called Power Packs because they are packed with powerful teaching materials! You download them to your hard drive and read them on the computer, printing pages only as needed. I've also started to write Mini Packs which are smaller and less expensive than Power Pack. Popular Power Pack titles include Classroom Goal Setting, Math Stations for Middle Grades, Daily Math Puzzlers, and Mastering Math Facts. Want to know more? Read reviews by other educators about my Power Packs and books!
Would you like to learn more about how to use the strategies and materials on my site? I love sharing my materials online, but I love sharing them in person even more!
